What is SERMI?

SERMI is a European framework for controlled access to vehicle security-related repair and maintenance information. It gives approved independent businesses and authorised technicians a way to identify themselves securely when accessing participating manufacturers’ protected information and functions.

Why it matters

A checked business and technician. Approval involves checks on the business and the technician before security-related access is authorised.

Responsible access. Eligible key programming and immobiliser work can follow secure, manufacturer-controlled procedures where the manufacturer supports them.

Protection for your vehicle. We check proof of vehicle ownership or keepership and valid identification before carrying out security-related work. These checks help protect vehicles against unauthorised work.

What our approval covers

SERMI authorisation supports access to security-related information and functions. Availability depends on the manufacturer, vehicle and work required. Approval does not mean that every vehicle or service is supported, or that a vehicle manufacturer directly endorses CarKeyPro.
